Environmental
We assess our environmental impact holistically, from the emissions footprint of our operations to the lifecycle of our proprietary Tile devices, which are manufactured by a third-party partner, Jabil. While we do not own or operate any manufacturing facilities, we work closely with Jabil, which holds responsibility for the environmental and impact practices associated with hardware production. Our focus remains on designing durable, sustainable products and collaborating with partners who align with our values. As part of our responsibility, we’ve achieved carbon neutrality in our recent past, and we continue to evaluate and report our progress against recognized standards, which includes our annual participation in the CDP disclosure process.
Our Environmental Focus Areas
We prioritize environmental responsibility in the following areas in our operations:
- Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)
- Energy and indirect water usage (HQ only)
- Product lifecycle and packaging
- Supply chain oversight (manufacturing and cloud)
- Environmental risk management and climate resilience
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
We report on GHG emissions across three scopes calculated by Pathzero:
| Gross Emissions (tCO2e) | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 |
| Scope 1 | ||||
| Direct | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |

| Scope 3 | ||||
| Purchased goods and services | 8,989 | 7,892 | 12,089 | 16,623 |
| Fuel and energy-related activities | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| Upstream transportation and distribution | 3,712 | 4,828 | 6,239 | 4,691 |

Energy and Water Use Estimation
Life360 does not operate owned manufacturing or data center infrastructure. Our reported energy and water figures reflect our San Mateo headquarters office space only.
| 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electricity Consumption (MWh) | 163 | 165 | 133 | 133 |
| Water Evaporation (gallons per kWh) | 2.2 | 2.2 | 2.2 | 2.2 |
| Indirect Water Use (gallons est.) | 358,263 | 362,658 | 292,325 | 291,771 |
- Electricity Consumption: 100% California grid, figures calculated by Pathzero.
- Indirect Water Use Estimate: These are management estimates of indirect water use based on evaporation from thermoelectric and hydroelectric power sources in California at a weighted average of approximately 2.2 gallons per kWh (source: NREL).
Cloud and Manufacturing
Life360 outsources all data infrastructure and product manufacturing. Our environmental oversight includes:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hosted entirely by AWS Cloud and Google Cloud, who publish detailed environmental performance and energy efficiency standards.
- Manufacturing: All Tile and Jiobit devices are manufactured by Jabil, a third-party contract partner. Environmental compliance and responsible sourcing are governed by our Supplier Code of Conduct, and you can learn more at Jabil’s Sustainability page.
Product Sustainability
We design our Tile products to be:
- Durable and long-lasting, minimizing replacement cycles; we do not engage in planned obsolescence
- Shipped in minimal and recyclable packaging; we work to reduce post-consumer waste
- Supported by software updates that extend lifespan
Climate Resilience and Risk
While Life360's environmental risk exposure is limited by our digital-first model, we recognize potential operational impacts from:
- Natural disasters affecting cloud providers or manufacturing facilities
- Supply chain disruptions in high-risk geographies (PRC, Malaysia)
- Geopolitical and climate-linked regulatory developments
We monitor these risks as part of our enterprise risk management framework and integrate them into vendor selection and contingency planning.
